This week at Cookie's,
our favorite local restaurant,
the regular patrons aren't the only ones being served.
In the back room, just outside the window,
tucked under a retro green awning,
4 hatchlings are getting their meals from Mom and Dad.
Last week, recently hatched,
they already knew how to order what they wanted off the menu.
They kept their parents busy with their appetite,
and a varied menu ensued.
The babies are noticeably bigger this week, and, with the first feathers sprouting,
they're starting to look a bit like robins.
It won't be long before they're on their own,
but I imagine they'll always carry with them
fond memories of their first meals at Cookies.

Great photos - how lovely to have them nesting so close where you can see them so well.
What adorable captures of those growing baby birds and those little open beaks! Not sure I care for their choice off the menu much though!! Still, mother knows best! Great captures!
Wonderful pictures, it isn't often that we get a close look at nestlings, thank you.
Excellent shots of the American Robin nestlings Connie! I love this time of year when all the birds are nesting!
Excellent shots. Never had these kind of photos it's fantastic!

Cool shots! It is great when you can see the nest and the birds do not feel threatened by you watching. The nestlings are adorable. Great captures.
Great pictures - you can see where the inspiration for the ugly duckling stories came from. Whatever they grow into, most birds start out as real shockers!

Connie, these are simply precious! What a great seat you have to watch the beauty of nature playing out. We just had baby cardinals hatch and go out on their own. Wonderful shots.

How awesome to have birds nesting at your windowsill!
You must have the feeling that they must feel safe and protected, so close to you!
