The skies are gray, the winds biting,
and the leafless landscape, so far, is devoid of snow...
but there are always the bluebirds...
and cardinals...
and tufted titmice.
What more could we want?
Note about the photos:
The three titmice on the branch are actually one bird in motion.
My camera caught the bird in the right and left positions in the first burst.
He may have heard me say "Take Two".
In any case, the little bird was obliging enough to come back to the same branch
for another takeoff, so I combined the three in photoshop.

With such glorious birds to observe and capture on camera we are wanting for nothing at all!
I love the tufted titmice lining up on the branch as if on a high-jump over a stretch of water and they are all about to dive in!
I'm always so impressed by the striking cardinals which we don't have here. The bluebird is so beautiful too with his distinctive marking. How lovely to get those red berries in the shot. Beautiful!
The two left on the branch are saying, "if your friend jumps off the branch, does that mean you have to, too?" *gasp* =0
Love the cardinal... I love cardinals =)
i love how much easier to see
they are now
that the foliage is dormant
...their bright colors
and movement seem like a
sweet winter song:)
thanks for the beautiful share,
Jennifer

Beautiful photos! I actually thought the cardinal was a painting!! Happy New Year!
Nice set of pictures - I do like the jumping Titmice!
The finger being bitten was mine - but its only if the bird gets hold of you with the tip of its beak that it starts to become uncomfortable. (And I put the finger there on purpose!)
Cheers and thanks for linking to WBW.
