The air turned sharply colder yesterday,
and birds came to the feeder in a steady stream.
A winterberry branch, propped above the feeder, provided a good perch.

Cardinals eat the berries, stripping away the shiny skin faster than you can blink.

Titmice, and the other small birds, haven't tried the berries yet, to my knowledge...
they're more interested in the sunflower seeds below.
Blue jays put in an appearance,
and, as is customary, there was a short squabble...
but this time the victor was worried.
"Did I make her mad?"

These are all beautiful, especially the titmouse with its wings unfurled.
Hi Connie...such lovely images of the Cardinal, Titmouse and Blue Jay!
Hoping your day is filled with sweet blessings~
Whenever I want to see beautiful bird photography, I know I can find it here, Connie!
All these birds are great captures, but the titmice take first prize this time. The first image is so pretty waiting to be made into a Christmas card, and the wings outstretched one is perfectly captured!
Ohhh.. Lovely birds and great captures.. Congrat and a hug.. Ana
that was sooooooo clever to perch
the berries on the feeder for
the feathery photo opp:)
they're lovely, Connie.
You have a way:)

These birds are gorgeous! I wish we had Cardinals and Blue Jays here in Europe too. Happy Holiday Season!
Two wonderful wintry things -- birds and berries -- and they're even better together! Great pix, as usual....
These are fantastic! That Blue Jay in the last photo looks awful skinny! LOL!
That long, stretched out Blue Jay is great.
Cheers and thanks for linking to WBW.

Great shots Connie! I've always thought that the female Northern Cardinal is more beautiful in her subtle tones than the male's bright red plumage. Love the Titmouse with its wings out!!
What a nice collection of images! A good variety of winter birds.
Wow - I was startled by the sheer magic of these shots!
Lovely shots, Connie. I love that stretched-out Blue Jay.
Connie, these photographs are absolutely beautiful!
It is now very cold here too, but no snow yet. I am really hoping for some for Christmas.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
xo.
Connie, these are fantastic images. The berries and branches make a wonderful background for your bird photos. Love them all! Have a happy weekend!
Gorgeous photos. Absolutely Gorgeous.
If you'd like, I would invite you to add a link to this wonderful post at the Bird D'Pot Saturday birding meme ---you'll find the linked image on my Hootin' Anni's sidebar "I'd Rather B Birdin"
Oh how lovely!! Truly beautiful captures!
Your last caption was right on perfect! Great shots!
Oh, Connie, these are wonderful. I've only seen sparrows so far.
This would make such a neat series of note cards. Wonderful photos.
