For me, life is fairly simple: love God, love your neighbor, do your art. As a Christian, my first priority is loving God, and I believe a part of loving Him is being grateful for what He's given us. Here in the Ozarks, we have much to appreciate and enjoy. And so this blog attempts to do a little of this: appreciate God's wonders, and share them with you, my neighbors.

Anniversaries
Don came into the bedroom this morning with his daily weather report just after my feet hit the deck at 5:30. He had been up since 4:25, and he told me that there was an unusually heavy dew this morning. I've never known anyone so in tune with atmospheric conditions as Don is, and, as was the case this morning, he often gives me a heads up about what I might want to shoot. It's only one of his many endearing qualities. This morning, he informed me that we've been married 8400 days. That's exactly 23 years, to normal people. 23 really good ones.

Hummingbird's Are Back!
This evening, while we were eating dinner, we saw our first hummingbird of the season. It drank from the feeder Don had hung out yesterday, and it must have been thirsty after its journey back from the Yucatan, because it took a very long drink. Our earliest hummingbird sighting in the past was the 7th of April, so this one tied our record.
