Still Life

Peonies are blooming now, and last week a friend brought me this beautiful bouquet.  I photographed it late at night, a still life, if you will.  Capturing life artistically is the only way I know to make it still; even while I clicked my camera, petals were falling to the table.

The grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of our God stands forever.
Isaiah 40:8
