Alien?

This little bug perched on top of the highest plant in my flower garden the other day, seemingly unaware of it's beauty.

My insect book didn't help me identify it;
can you?

It's doing a hand-stand!
How wonderful.
So sad they only live for one day.

I think it may be a dragonfly ... beautiful wings!

I was attempting to photograph these today - having failed on Friday in the wind. They love to perch on the highest fragile point and sway about. I think they are dragonflies, definitely not damselflies but I am not sure what type. They are so very tiny but their wings are so beautiful. Great capture - these are devilishly difficult to photograph!

Brilliant macro! It does look like a dragonfly of sorts....
ballerina dragonfly seems like a good made up name.

Thank you for stopping by my post- "Just Like Magic".

Your camera is amazing. I'm thinking dragonfly family too, but no idea.
