A Sunflower Waits

A sunflower hangs out to dry, fringed with faded beauty,

its gray striped seed packages crowded together in tight rows like stadium seating.

 Yesterday its radiance smiled down on the garden;

now it waits, upside down, ingloriously, for birds to find its treasure.

Still gloriously I reckon. Mainly because of your respect for it.
Another beautiful guise of this flower.

so much beauty
even in the fading
and wildly changing
...seasons to be embraced
even in the ache.
Your picture spoke to me
so deeply
and it comforts my heart.
Thanks for this wonderful share.

This is beautiful. I love this kind of shot. I don't know what has happened on blogger, but my blog has disappeared for now. I'm working on trying to get it back and hopefully that will happen soon and I can start posting my images from my trip to New England. Meanwhile I'll just enjoy my blogger friends' posts.

I love this photo and found your words, particularly the comparison with stadium rows, really lovely also. To top it off effective and beautiful processing.

Flowers that have past their prime are still lovely if you look at them this way. This is a fabulous shot. Love the texture of the flower itself and the effects you added.

This is gorgeous - almost more beautiful in its graceful decline than in its full bloom!!!
