Hummers Are Back!

It's delightful to have the hummingbirds back.

This ruby-throated female has already found a favorite perch near the feeders.

The male, of course, is busy making sure he looks good.

He turns his head, and his ruby throat turns to glittering bronze.

He needn't worry.

He looks very good indeed.

That soft green background brings out the beauty in both of them.
I thought they would be early here but haven't seen any.

These are stunning shots, Connie, as always. These little hummingbirds are incredible little creatures and the colours of their plumage is admirable. I like the way you caught the female giving her wings a little stretch. I love the capture of the top bird with the gorgeous emerald glint on his feathers and the typical long and elegant beak. Lovely soft green backgrounds which allow all the attention to go to the birds. Wonderful!

Creation declares God's glory, and you sure have a gift for telling so. We used to have a huge maple tree in our backyard that hummers nested in. It had to come down because it was leaning over our house in a dangerous way. Sadly, we don't get as many hummers now, except in September. I'm guessing it's because they are migrating them.

Superb captures!
I haven't seen any hummers here yet. We had a Warm March but April has been a bit cool. Hope to see them soon!
