Snow!

Now that it's finally spring, the snow that held back all winter fell Thursday afternoon,

texturing everything with a swirling annimation of large flakes.

We woke Friday morning to a new vista, pristine and white.

Barley, though eager for his walk, was content to wait while I took a few pictures.

 Snow whitewashed the tree trunks...

capped the fence posts...

and bowed the limbs to form a canopy over our path through the woods.

At the pond, all was quiet...

 and on the hillside...

there was one very happy dog.

We've had far too much snow this year but it is beautiful before it's plowed. Love those deer and Harley sure looks happy!

Gorgeous, truly magical! I still wish the snow would melt already.

The scenes remain very beautiful, don't you think winter has been too long? I wonder why the dog's feet don't seem like feeling the cold. I guess he thinks his master will be happy if he will do it that way, no mater how cold.

If I could have run through the deep snow, I'd have had the same smile as Barley -- joy! Love the picture, which is absolutely perfect -- proportion, everything. Simply beautiful! I can FEEL the quiet that blanketed those woods.

Your happy dog makes me happy too :)

Barney is a gorgeous dog. Our Lindy has boots like that, so much better than getting ice chunks between the pads of the feet, or getting salt mixed with snow in town.
Beautiful photos of your lovely woods.

Hi there! Just "hopping" by in the Rurality Blog Hop.

These are truly stunning photos! They could all be greeting cards and I'd buy every one of them! I think the one with the deer is my very favorite though (if I had to choose).

Oh how I love the snow, and you made it even more beautiful with these images ... love them all! I came across your lovely site from Jacqueline's Deep Roots, and so glad I did! We had some of that snow, but nothing this breathtaking this past week. I bet Barley was so fun to watch romping through that winter wonder land, too! I would have romped right along with him if I had been there! Thanks so much for sharing the beauty of your home! I'll be following! Blessings to you!

What a lovely snowy series, Connie! It does look so gorgeously beautiful - despite the fact that spring is here on our calendars! I love Barley dashing through the snow with paw protections!
I've just come back from England where we had rain, sleet, snow and a little sun - all mixed up!
