Terrific Hieroglyphic

It's cold out, the snow still falling, but Cardinals brighten even the grayest days.

Through the trees, as far as the opposite goal post,

their neon color catches our attention.

The female waits for spring when, instead of chasing them away,

the males will be offering little gifts of food.

What do the birds mean,

with their hieroglyphics in the snow?

This one, at least, we know.

As always, I love this! Connie, I can always depend on your posts (just like our birds!) to make me smile, even on the grayest days.

Those cardinals are so gorgeous, especially in the snow. I just love that second shot. You have such a wonderful connection with birds, Connie!

The second shot is a real winner! Hat's off to you. The way you framed it, the color scheme and everything about it is perfection. But the others are great too of course. Thanks so much for sharing with us!

Love the red cardinal waaay up in the tree! We don't have them in the NW. And the little heart in the snow is so sweet!

We just moved from the Ozarks last November. We are missing the beautiful birds but not the bad weather. Thanks for sharing these lovely pictures.

That long shot of the cardinal in the tree is wonderful! Just a tiny spot of red, but what a spot of red!

Also liked the Roadrunner post - hope to see some in Arizona at the end of the month!
