Baby Bunny's Breakfast

Our front door mat was falling apart, and when Don was headed for the nearest Walmart last week, 50 minutes away, I asked him to pick up one like our old one.  He came back with two, which was fortunate, because the one intended for the front door reminded me, once again, that the two of us have very different taste in design.  He was kind enough to agree that the cheetah patterned welcome mat could go in the back, off our bedroom, outside the sliding glass door.  So, it's the first thing I notice when I look out of the bedroom in the morning, but at least not everybody has to see it.

This morning, the cutest tiny rabbit showed up on our deck.

At first, it appeared to be attacking the welcome mat,  but then I realized that it was eating the fibrous bristles for breakfast.
Ok, it was only little rabbit bites, but it was something.

Then it checked out the edge of the deck...

Oooo... too far to jump!
So it hopped away by way of the stairs.

Maybe it has lots of brothers and sisters who will like eating welcome mats, too.
We can only hope.
