Prepping For Migration


This adolescent male ruby-throated hummingbird

has a favorite perch among the flowers,

where he was preening the other day...





showing off his crewcut...




imitating a Boeing 727...




























admiring his Rolex...





and zipping up his flight suit.

What gorgeous shots of this little hummingbird. I love the crewcut shot on the flowery branch and the wing stretch (imitating a 727!) The one-legged balancing act as he checks out the time! I admired the colour of his feathers as he was zipping on his flight suit!

We have a potted plant called a Cardinal Climber (bright red, trumpet shaped flowers). It seems to be a favorite fast food joint for hummingbirds this time of year. As always, I love your photos.
